CS VIKING (1) Built in 1882 by Craigie Shipyard, Dundee Length 145 ft. Breadth 23 ft. Depth 14.5 ft. Gross tonnage 436 Designed and built as a cable ship for the Western and Brazilian Telegraph Company. Cable machinery was supplied and fitted by Johnson & Phillips. Transferred to the Amazon Telegraph Company on formation. Used for cable repairs until scrapped in 1901. CABLE WORK
